Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design and implementation of an embedded measurement system for analysing the flight dynamics of a sports disc (Frisbee). The aim of the thesis was to create a device capable of autonomously recording kinematic parameters during flight and subsequently evaluating this data. The hardware solution is based on a combination of a microcontroller and an inertial measurement unit, or a microcontroller with this unit already built-in, which measure linear acceleration and angular velocity in three axes. This work could be beneficial not only for the disc sports community but also for research into the flight characteristics of a stabilized body in flight without active control.
