Abstract

The main part of the thesis is focused on deep hole drilling with gun drills. The theoretical part summarize the available drilling systems and procedures which can be used for deep holes drilling. Following section deals about the gun drills, especialy about different types, applications and their edging. At the end of theoretical part are described requirments on cutting media and influence of their parameters on the machining. The experimental part of thesis is devided into two parts. The first one deals with drilling with gun drill into three different materials and the second one is focused on screw drills as the best known technology for deep hole drilling. The last chapter of experimental part contains comparison of influence of above mentioned drilling technologies on the roughness of drilled holes.
