Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on Dead Reckoning navigation, its practical applications, and the requirements placed on ATPL course graduates. The main contribution of the thesis will be the creation of a comprehensive study manual for General Navigation, specifically for the „Dead Reckoning (061 04)” section, which will be supplemented with detailed calculation procedures, illustrative images, and schemes. The theoretical part describes the definitions of basic concepts and an analysis of available textbooks and online sources regarding Dead Reckoning. The practical part focuses on methodological guides for solving navigation problems, including step by step calculations. The thesis is concluded with a questionnaire survey conducted among students to identify critical areas in Dead Reckoning. The survey assesses the current knowledge level of students and their requirements for modifying or supplementing the manual with detailed methodological procedures. The aim of the thesis is to provide ATPL students with a comprehensive study guide that will help them prepare more effectively for the theoretical exams in the subject of General Navigation.
