Abstract
The master thesis deals with a design concept of a compact linear actuator for special applications. The introduction provides a comparison of actuators available on the market. Based on the entered requirements, a compact linear actuator driven by an electric motor is designed. The motion mechanism of the actuator is created by a rotating screw and by a linear nut. The motion screw and the electric motor are connected by a pin type coupling. As for the designed screw, a static and a dynamic stress analyses are carried out. For the selected parts, the stress analysis is carried out by using FEM. The calculation part is concerned with rating life of bearings, connection of bearings to a frame and stress analysis of threaded connections.
