Abstract

The submitted dissertation deals with the prediction of wear of the surface of the forming tools and its subsequent restoration. Research in this phase focused on the genesis of straining in contact of the blank and tool in the process of volumetric cold- forming. The experiments were carried out in a simple implementation of the classic upsetting test. The results of the abrasive wear are presented for several combinations of materials of investigated samples and upsetting plates. Abrasive wear of the representatives of used materials was comparatively analysed in the form of "wear factor" by means of finite elements method. The output for examined material combinations are two, mutually penetrating/ mingling phenomenological areas. In the first part it concerns the formulation of dependence of the maximum increment of depth of surface erosion; the argument is the number of cycles of exposure. In parallel was investigated the topology of decrements and the resulting roughness in the space of the exposed surface. The results of the dissertation should contribute to a generalization of the mechanisms that influence the costs in terms of service life of forming tools and also to propose a methodology of consumption of forming tools in the field of operational maintenance.
