Abstract

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the possibilities of using CNG for motor cars and public transport. The first part of the thesis presents contemporarily used technologies of CNG supply and compares it with petrol and oil fuels. Furthermore, this part contains the description of the components and lists the advantages of the CNG use. The second part of the thesis describes the home filling station and the function of the CNG piston compressor, which is based on the series of calculations. The description focuses on the first stage, which is schematically demonstrated by the drawing included in the appendix.
