Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of current aeronautical environment in the Czech Republic, focusing specifically on particular airports with an emphasis on low-cost airlines. In the introduction I focus on aviation history and its milestones that together brought the deregulation of aviation with the evolution of low-cost airlines as a most visible result. The next section thoroughly describes the so called “low-cost” operating model widely used by these airlines. Finally I conducted a detailed analysis of traffic at the most important Czech airports highlighting those with a significant low-cost share. In the last section I tried to point out current position of these carriers within the industry and propose a direction that these airlines may take in the years to come.
