Abstract
This thesis deals with determining the speed of propagation of longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic waves in preparations calibration block no. 1. The introduction describes the function and use of a calibration gauge, ultrasonic flaw detection industry. It also analyzed the physical nature of ultrasound and description of test methods and instrumentation used. The individual chapters are explained possible options for detecting the speed of sound in the material. The aim of the thesis is to choose the method of determining the velocity of ultrasonic waves to suit instrumentation and measurement capabilities realization in Strojírny a stavby Třinec. For the chosen method will create
a new document for recording measurements.
