Abstract

This thesis deals with technologies used in the development of a program designed to play a modification of a game called "Dragon lair" in the internet environment. The program is implemented in the Java language and uses the JavaSE technologies, such as the Swing library used to create the graphic user interface. Communication between the players is dealt with in the using sockets in the form of server-client. To define map and in-game actions the Groovy language is used, interconnected with objects implemented in Java, which it can manipulate and edit. Last but not least a “player versus artificial intelligence game” is incorporated. The outcome of this thesis is the creation of an application that allows users to “program” their own maps and character behaviours they use in a simplified way.
