Abstract
Rajkumar Arokiaraj James Akshay Nicholas, Investigation of stress-strain behaviour in ONYX material and its modelling. Ostrava: VŠB Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Applied Mechanics, 2020, (57) p. Supervisor: prof. Ing. Radim Halama, Ph.D.
The master thesis is truly based on the experimental and numerical study of specimens of different designs manufactured by 3D printing from Nylon strengthened by short carbon fibres, so called ONYX. The Finite Element Analyses were conducted for all mechanical tests performed. The viscoplastic model of Perzyna was calibrated to describe the stress/strain behaviour of ONYX correctly. The thesis deals with strain rate effect of ONYX material at different strain rates and creep test along with relaxation of the ONYX material investigated using Digital Image Correlation. All mechanical tests were carried out under room temperature. The calibrated material model can serve other researchers to describe a complex stress-strain behaviour of ONYX.
