Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of a permanent reconstruction of the intersection of roads II/474 and III/01144 in the town of Bystřice, which currently functions as a temporary roundabout. The introductory section of the thesis analyzes the current state of the intersection and evaluates accident records and traffic conflicts. To determine the current traffic volumes and develop a forecast for the year 2045, an independent traffic survey was conducted. Based on these values, a capacity assessment of the existing roundabout was performed. The main part of the thesis focuses on the design of two permanent alternative solutions: a roundabout in Option A and a priority intersection in Option B. Both options are spatially verified using swept path analysis and assessed for capacity. Subsequently, a multi-criteria evaluation is performed to select the most suitable solution for implementation. Both proposed solutions are further examined in detail using a microsimulation model in the PTV VISSIM software.
