Abstract
This dissertation thesis is concentrated on wireless sensor networks area. First chapter describes main concepts of smart sensors and wireless sensor networks. In the next chapter, wireless technologies mainly used in computer networks, mobile communication and sensor networks are described (Wifi, Bluetooth and ZigBee).
Following chapters already describe practical preprogrammed exercises with available and used wireless communications evolutional modules by firms Freescale and Microchip. Further are particularly described used tasks for modules by Freescale and Microchip, their wiring, initialization and work with them. Part of is there a short description of evaluation modules with their features.
In this work various variant assembly were proposed. They are conceptually very modular and can be separated into parts, which can be combined and are formed from sensors, control and analyzing units and communication units.
In work were designed and realized modules for 1-Wire bus and programmed its interface for PIC and HCS08 microcontrollers. Modules are used for digital thermometer DS18B20, A/D converter DS2450 for analogue sensors (with 0-5 V voltage output), and LCD module with two row display MC1602E-SYL with HD44780 controller.
Created modules were used for home appliance (refrigerator), weather station and heartbeat measuring. These equipments are configured into star type wireless network with central evaluation board Axiom AXM-0308, wireless evaluation board 13192 DSK and wireless evaluation board 13192-EVB. All software is implemented right in evaluation wireless boards.
