Abstract
The thesis deals with the use of water resources for the production of electric energy. It is focused on the practical design of small hydropower plants as well. The first theoretical part explores possibilities of utilization of hydropotentials of our flows and types of machine components, which can be used in the design. The practical part of the thesis shows a specific design of the turbine structure according to the hydropotency of the given locality. The designed turbine structure is supposed to be used in the power plant. Last of all, there is stated the energetic, economic and environmental assessment of the water energy usage.
