Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the design of a multi-cavity injection mold for a polymer building block made of ABS material. The theoretical part summarizes the design principles of plastic parts and the procedure for injection mold design, including an overview of commonly used structural systems. The practical part is dedicated to the design of a specific building block, its verification using 3D printing, and the subsequent mold construction, covering the design of the gating, cooling, ejection, and venting systems. The correctness of the design was verified through simulation analysis of the filling and cooling process, complemented by the selection of a suitable injection molding machine. The thesis also includes technical drawings of the mold assembly and the building block. The conclusion briefly evaluates the economic aspects of producing the designed part.
