Abstract
NOVOTNÝ, T. Optimization of the Rover K3P4 Undercarriage: master thesis. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical engineering, Department of Applied Mechanics, 2020, 52 pages. Head of Thesis: Ing Jaroslav Rojíček, PhD.
This thesis looks into the issue of topological optimization of chosen undercarriage components of the K3P4 rover. The objective of this thesis is to design parts of the paralelogram between the rover chassis and the wheel carrier assembly. It is a case of an optimization with minimum mass as a target while maintaining the stiffness of the mechanism components. Due to the requirements of maintaining dimensions at joints as well as leaving ample room for cable routing and assembly the thesis focuses on the topological optimization method with the objective of creating monolithic parts using 3D printing technology in order to replace the former assemblies. This work is made to comply with the RoverOva robotics fakulty team for use in the European Rover Challenge competitions.
