Abstract

The master thesis deals with the optimization of logyard. In the introduction the problem of timber storage and storage in general is presented. Furthermore, the storage system at the Mayr-Melnhof Holz sawmill in Paskov, its basic characteristics and performance indicators are presented. From the information, analyses and evaluations of the individual bottlenecks are made, to which solutions are proposed. The logyard is undergoing a gradual optimisation of the storage plan to make it clear for the operators. In connection with the logyard plan, a review of the placement of the games is carried out. Another point of optimization was to reduce the number of highlifts that the logyard is serviced by. Another bottleneck is the error rate, which we can reduce by implementing a GPS navigation system. The technology is further described including the implementation procedure on the log warehouse.
