Abstract

This master thesis is about laser beam welding and laser beam weldability. Theoretical part is focused on physical principles of welding method and making welded joints, welding equipment, weldability, welding parameters and finally advantages and disadvantages of this method. The microstructure of welded joints was evaluated in the experimental section by electron microscopy and microhardness test. The samples for evaluation were made of DOMEX 420 MC D, S235JRG2, X4CrNi18-12, X6Cr13, DC04 steels and one heterogeneous joint of L555QB steel with cemented carbide K40.
