Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis deals with utilization of pneumatic springs for secondary suspension of railway vehicles for passenger transport. The first part summarizes attributes of suspension of railway vehicles, its separation, and requirements for it. Then, a search of currently used types of secondary suspension of railway vehicles for passenger transport is made and their advantages and disadvantages are identified. The next part summarizes the theory for the calculation of vertical stiffness of pneumatic spring, pressure of air enclosed in it and the assumptions for the design of vertical stiffness of the suspension of railway vehicles. Based on the assumptions for the design of the vertical stiffness of the railway vehicle suspension, volume, active area and stiffness of the air spring are designed and for the spring with these parameters the air pressure in the spring is determined depending on the static load and vehicle height regulation.
