Návrh chladicího systému závodního vozu Formule TU Ostrava

Abstract

Bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis and development of the cooling system for the Formula TU Ostrava racing car, carried out in preparation for the 2025 season. The main part of the work was dedicated to ensuring the required performance of the cooling system due to the transition from an oil-to-air type oil heat exchanger to an integrated layout with a oil-to-water plate heat exchanger within the engine coolant circuit. Analytical calculations and simulations of the cooling system operation were conducted using 1-D and 3-D tools to determine the optimal system configuration. Pressure losses and thermal efficiency of the main circuit’s cooling system were evaluated. The thesis emphasizes the importance of a systematic approach to cooling system design under the constraints of limited time and development resources.
