Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with a study of how thin coatings react in contact with a biological enviroment. Basic information about the enamel coating and its properties, and the biological enviroment it will come into contact with, are described in the theoretical part. The practical part deals with testing the surface roughness of the base material, macrostructure, surface, thichness and microhardness of the enamel coating before its application in a biological enviroment and then after its application. The aim was to measure the influence of the biological environment on the microhardness value, which has an influence on the frangible properties of the coating The results of the tests show that the biological enviroment does have an influence on the properties of the enamel coating.
