Abstract
In this bachelor thesis I deal with the possibilities of measurement of residual stresses contained in plastic materials. Main attention is paid to the investigation of stress assigned in specimen by optical methods. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the layout of stresses on overall area including the direction of principal stresses. Bachelor thesis is worked up on the basis of American standard ASTM D4093. In introduction of experimental analysis there is determined the constant which is known as material fringe value. An analysis of the loaded and permanently deformed specimen has been carried out. The results obtained from photoelasticity measurement in case of loaded specimen are compared with results gained from analytical and FEM analysis. Numerical solving is performed in Patran software.
