Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with a computational analysis of a new type of cycling helmet. The first part of this thesis includes general information about current cycling helmets. Mentioned in particular are their technological, material and construction solutions, as well as background research about the standards which they are subject to. The subsequent part focuses on structural modifications of a new type of cycling helmet. This modified design has made it possible to significantly reduce the overall weight and parameterize the geometry affecting the helmet's mechanical properties. The final part deals with the stress and strain analysis of the simplified computational model of the cycling helmet. The deformational behaviour was also compared to the experimental results of a conventional helmet.
