Abstract

The thesis deals with designing of ergonomic adaptations for the handicapped with severe physical disabilities in wheelchairs and for a group of physically disabled workers in the sheltered workshops in Hrabyně. The dissertation is composed of theoretical and practical parts, the aim being to use obtained knowledge in order to improve working conditions on the workplaces. The theoretical part addresses the disabled and their employment after an injury. Improvements for the disabled are based on ergonomics for healthy people. Following chapters focus on the human beings and their bio, psycho and social parts as well as on ergonomics for the disabled and their needs. That knowledge is used then for the practical part. The practical part focused on the analysis and evaluation of the results. The observational methods have been used to study the current state of the working environment (observation of the working activity, procedures and motions). More data have been obtained from the soft motoric and precise grip measurements. The chapters in the practical part focus also on the ergonomic improvements of the working comfort and efficiency at the two workplaces for the disabled. The first workplace is the PC station. Attention is paid to the general layout of the working space, position of the tables, opening of door and storing of materials. There are two new rooms in the project: the room for daily activities and a bathroom. Based on the tests and observation we recommended certain individual improvements for the two wheelchair users. The second workplace will be completely new – we created a safe and comfortable working environment for the group of disabled workers at the Svatá Klára Sheltered Workshop in Hrabyně. The research focused on a toy assembly group work. The project designed several changes in the working environment – a layout of the workplaces, assembly, logistics, storage, bathroom, a room for daily activities, the resulting being an ergonomic working environment including the chairs, tables, a conveyor belt and the tools. A new way of material transport is planned – the wheeled mobile containers and trays for components. The test results as well as the scientific and practical contributions are stated in the last part of the thesis. Having analysed the assembly procedure of the digger TRUXX toy, an efficient working procedure has been created. We used the MTM method and respected a limited motion of the workers. A 3D model is available for the workplace No.2
