Abstract

This Bachelor Thesis deals with the determination of the optimum service life of vehicles and proposal for renewal of a company's vehicle fleet. The owner of the vehicles is the Road Administration of the Region of Olomouc, a subsidized organization. 15 company's road trucks were analyzed. The theoretical part contains descriptions of various methods by means of which it is possible to establish and to quantify vehicles that have become a burden for the company, both economically and ecologically. The practical part comprises calculations enabling the determination of the optimum time that the vehicles should be retired. To obtain the results, the method of exponential trends was used, and the method of determination of the upper limit of a vehicle retirement was also applied with selected vehicles. In the conclusion the purchase of new vehicles is recommended on the basis of the provided calculations.
