Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design of a testing device for evaluating the strength of the rivet joint between a slat and a guide pin in a horizontal blinds system. The device was developed for the company ZEBR s.r.o., taking into account its specific requirements and operating conditions. Based on market research, electromechanical and pneumatic testing machines were identified as the most suitable solutions, and the final design was inspired by these technologies. Two design variants were developed, with Variant B selected for its higher level of automation, accuracy, and user convenience. The design emphasized the use of standard commercially available components to reduce manufacturing costs, and it allows for easy reconfiguration for other types of testing. The functionality of the design was verified through strength and deformation calculations, confirming the device’s safe operation. The total production cost is approximately CZK 54,764, which is significantly lower than the price of commonly available universal testing machines. Compared to the original testing method, the proposed device delivers more accurate and repeatable results and can be easily operated even by less experienced personnel.
