Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with design and implementation of control unit of electronic light system of electric car. The control unit and whole light system have to be design to minimal energy depletion of electric car’s power source, that cannot be recharged like combustion engine car battery. An introductory chapter describes history of car lighting from the first lanterns with candle to modern lighting by light-emitting diodes and third chapter clarifies physical principle of this type of diodes, their advantages and disadvantages. The control unit design and implementation is described in fourth chapter, specifically its first three subchapters, where control section with its main part microcontroller PIC 18F2480 and power section that is composed mainly of unipolar transistors of MOSFET type are described. The fourth subchapter deals with control software.
