Abstract
This master's thesis focuses on the complex process of virtual commissioning and the subsequent validation of robotic welding at a workplace equipped with the ABB IRB 1660ID robot. The theoretical part analyzes modern trends in industrial robotics, simulation tools, technologies, and components of welding cells. The practical part aims at creating a faithful digital twin of the real workplace in the ABB RobotStudio environment using the Arc Welding PowerPac add-in. A significant contribution of this thesis is also the creation of a user manual that details the methodology of working within this module. Furthermore, two demonstration tasks were designed, encompassing a clamping system for the weldments and the development of an external visualization module for the accurate simulation of the individual phases of the welding arc. The result is a fully functional simulation model whose control programs have been successfully transferred and validated at the real robotic workplace.
