Abstract
The Master Thesis deals with the design of body for modernised BVP-1and BVP-2 infantry vehicles utilised by the Czech Army. The body’s design is based on analysis of new materials, factors influencing the design of ballistic protection, mathematical calculations, numeric simulations and experiments. The designed body meets the requirements for ballistic protection according to the STANAG 4569, for 7,62x54R cartridge with AP-I B 32 bullet. It also meets other requirements specified by possible users. A ramp with emergency doors and lifting eyes that are part of the body of modernised BVP are designed in line with the specifications of modernised BVP. 3D models and technical drawings of assemblies and sub-assemblies have been produced for body and designed parts.
