Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design and implementation of a control unit for multiple drive units. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current state of drive unit control, propose a hardware and software modification of the control unit, subsequently implement the proposed solution, and verify its functionality in real operation. Within the thesis, an analysis of the used electric drives, their control methods, and mutual communication is carried out. Based on this analysis, a solution based on a programmable logic controller is proposed, including the design of wiring, communication structure, and user interface. The proposed solution is subsequently implemented and tested, while the results of testing confirm the correct functionality of the control unit and the fulfillment of the defined requirements.
