Komparace technologie zpětného a konvečního soustružení

Abstract

The master thesis deals with the technology of prime turning which was developed by Sandvik Coromant s.r.o. in comparison with conventional turning technology. In the introductory part, the work focuses on the issue and benefits of prime turning, the suitability of using this technology and new cutting tools. The experimental part of the thesis deals with cutting forces during turning for individual technologies, where their decomposition and interaction in machining 316L stainless steel and C45 carbon steel is examied. This thesis also examines the surface roughness of both machined materials, chip formation and the resulted wear mechanisms of the inserts. The whole experiment was carried out in new premises with a modern infrastructure of the Department of Machining, Assembly and Engineering Metrology Faculty of Mechanical Engineering VŠB-TU Ostrava.
