Abstract

The main focus of the thesis is the durability test, which is realized by an experiment with a continuous measuring part. In the beginning there is an introduction to the test, its demands and goal. The second chapter is essential for understanding the problematic of wear, the term wear criterion is explained and the reason why it is closely related to tool durability. The following part is an overview of the wear types of indexable face milling inserts used by the models created by me. The next chapter brings at its end an important part of the criteria for understanding the experiment, where and how the evaluation of the course of the test takes place. The last part of the chapter contains a description of the tested samples, their characteristics and type of test material. The overal design with a detailed analysis of each section of the experiment is mentioned in Chapter 3 together with the analysis of the experiment including the photos taken, the measured wear values at the beginning and at the end of the test. At the end of the thesis there is a detailed evaluation of the test and all samples. The master thesis is concluded with a thanks.
