Abstract
The purpose of this work is to use the Raspberry Pi platform as a peripheral unit for a programmable logic controller. Its goal is to create a simulation system using the REXYGEN development environment, which then allows connection to the control system as a replacement for a real control system.
The theoretical part describes the basic principles of automation, information about PLC and information about microcontrollers including development environments.
The practical part is focused on creating a simulation system as a replacement of a real control system and the communication. For this purpose, was been selected the REXYGEN development environment, including components like as (REXYGEN Studio, REXYGEN Diagnostics, REXYGEN HMI Designer, OPC UA Server).
