Abstract
Biomass certainly will not replace fossil fuels or nuclear energy. It may be, but the additional power source using the best local, time and technical specifics of energy resources. One of these specifics is the use of existing facilities and their potential.
The object of this work is to define the potential for the field of heat. In this field of application of biomass is one of the opportunities for use at the same time, local conditions (big extension this kind of energy - the low cost of biomass collection) and the technical conditions in the form of electricity production with high efficiency and maximum use of existing facilities.
Maximum use of existing equipment for combustion of biomass is possible in the biomass and coal co. In this mode, you can use the time-specific applications of biomass, while not wholly dependent on it.
To co-existing facilities allows for the immediate increase in the share of electricity produced from renewable sources and thus reduce the production of gaseous emissions of oxide S with and neutral effect on the combustion of greenhouse gas emissions in the form of CO2. At the same time, the combustion of biomass due to lower ash produces smaller quantities of waste in the form of ash.
Yet it is worth thinking whether it is appropriate to apply biomass to all types of heating boilers. Without a doubt, is an application to boilers grate and fluid, which is certainly the greatest potential. Dispute, however, applied biomass to the granulation of boilers. The aim of this work is to analyze each of these applications, the definition of potential, experience and potential opportunities. May not always be the blind application of biomass in the overall co-benefit, because it can very easily lose less efficiency of energy production, equipment reliability, increased its own energy consumption and, paradoxically, the higher emissions of pollutants.
