Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the optimization of the technological process for applying surface treatments to railway wheelsets. The first part outlines the theoretical background relevant to the topic, specifically addressing corrosion, corrosion mechanisms, and methods of corrosion protection. The practical section describes the railway wheelset from technical and structural perspectives. Subsequently, the thesis provides a detailed account of the procedure used to resolve the issue of insufficient adhesion of the coating system applied to the wheelset axle. This problem was successfully addressed, and the conclusion proposes further potential solutions to the issue.
