Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the study of oxidative coatings properties. The introduction is a small look into the history of these finishes. The pre-treatment necessary for the correct application of the coating were described in following chapter. Furthermore, the blackening technological process was performed. One chapter was devoted to errors in the application of oxide layers and ways to prevent these errors. The practical part is focused on the properties of the coating. Subsequently, within the practical part the correct application process, the behaviour of oxide layer on dirty substrate, and properly prepared substrate were examined. The weight and dustiness were measured and anticorrosive properties were tested by inserting into the corrosion chamber. All results were recorded in tables and refilled by photographs depicting the entire experiment for clarity.
