Abstract

The master thesis is focused on developing of an algorithm for the solution of diffusion chloride ions using finite element method. This work describes the model based on isoparametric element. The algorithm is implemented under MatLab software. Generated results are compared with results from commercial Finite Element software Ansys. Prepared program is used in probabilistic analysis of time-dependent diffusion problem. Effect of deicing salts is one of the significant factors causing a corrosion of steel reinforcement of concrete bridges. Corrosion threatens the structural lifetime. The created model describes the penetration of chloride ions to the reinforced concrete bridge deck without protection of the steel reinforcement, because the objective is to verify the behavior of the model when considering the time-dependent diffusion coefficient. The entire computer algorithm is used in the probability analysis. There are four examples with different diffusion coefficient. Results of probabilistic problems are compared and there is used sensitivity analysis to identify key parameters.
