Abstract
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the design and implementation of a virtual reality application
that connects the specialized MOTomed rehabilitation trainer with an immersive racing environment
created in Unreal Engine 5. The work covers the entire development process, from a comparison of
static and dynamic approaches to virtual landscape creation, through the design of different methods
of motion simulation along a track, to the implementation of race mechanics and the optimisation
of the scene for stable performance in virtual reality. The application includes a race mode against
AI opponents, a ghost replay mechanic for the fastest lap, and bidirectional communication with
the trainer via the UDP protocol. Emphasis is placed on creating an engaging environment for the
patient, on the prevention of motion sickness and on clinical applicability in cooperation with the
University Hospital in Ostrava
