Abstract

The thesis deals with the machinery and works on heating gas distribution in order to execute work safely in the working conditions, or only with minimum restrictions. It focuses particularly on production of new branch pipes of fuel gas distribution under pressure. The introductory part of the thesis describes the hitherto known production processes of new branch pipes and the historical development of special gas works in industrial factories. The reader gets acquainted with particular types of heating gases that are being produced and used in steelworks, and also with their physical and technical properties. Dealing with the theory, the current valid legislation is quoted, too, which relates to fuel gas distribution and safety in the working conditions. As concerns the practical part, the calculations of physical and technical properties are performed on the basis of measurement of heating gas composition, taken in Třinecké Železárny, a.s. With the help of two practical examples relating to production process of new branch pipes in the working conditions of existing gas piping, these findings are applied, with regard to work safety and machinery technical equipment for this work.
