Abstract
In this paper, examples of connecting microcontrollers to IoT platforms are presented, including collection and visualization of measured data and control of the target device on several different tasks. At the beginning of the paper, a theoretical introduction to IoT, the types of wireless networks and communication protocols used is provided. This is followed by a description of the microcontroller boards that have been selected for the implementation of the tasks, and a description and comparison of the essential characteristics of several selected platforms that can be used to implement IoT applications. Particular attention is paid to the capabilities of working with data and in the form of geographical coordinates. Modules that can be used to determine geographic position are also compared and examples using these modules are presented. At the end of the work, the results achieved are evaluated.
