Abstract
This thesis deals with numerical techniques for calculating improper integrals using Gaussian
quadrature. It also deals with the generalization of numerical integration to multiple dimensions
and the removal of singularities using Duffy substitution. Finally, it gives examples of practical applications
of these methods to the computation of the improper integrals occurring in the boundary
element method.
