Abstract
The bachelor thes is deals with the design and selection of a co-generation unit. The co-generation unit will be used primarily as a source of electrical energy. Its secondary use is to generate waste heat, which is further used for space and water heating for the given building. The theoretical part addresses the use, function and principles of co-generation units. In addition, the co-generation units are divided by the method of drive and use of fuel. Heat losses of the holiday facility should be computed to select an adequate co-generation unit. This heat loss is computed in the second part of the bachelor thesis. The heat demand for space and hot water heating is also computed here. In the conclusion of the thesis, the co-generation unit is compared with a solid fuel boiler in terms of operating cost, fuel consumption and acquisition cost. Consequently, the better variant for the relevant building is chosen.
