Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the design of a controllable gearbox for an electric wheelchair. The content of the work is the design of itself gearbox, the parameters were supplied by the wheelchair manufacturer. The first part describes the history of the development of wheelchairs and today´s most used types. Following is the complete design of own solution and calculation of the main and critically stressed components. At the end of the thesis is a summary and comparison of the advantages with disadvantages of the proposed gearbox. The annex includes a proposal for geometry and strength control of gearing, the drawing of the assembly and the output shaft.
