Abstract

The topic of my bachelor thesis is a design of a 3D-printed wearable structure. I adress this topic because comercially available bras do not always fit properly and can cause pressure marks or general discomfort. Before the actual design process, I scan the subjects' bodies to obtain their geometry. At this stage I also point out breast asymmetry. In the second part, I work on designing the geometry of the wearable structure. I introduce appropriate simplifications. I design the wearable structure in a flat plane, not directly on the body surface. Also for simplification I define the shape of the structured cup as a~quarter-sphere. I choose the material for the wearable structure based on its suitability for contact with the human body, while also ensuring compatibility with 3D printing. In the third part, I determine an appropriate thickness of the support to ensure sufficient stiffness and I check the strap attachment geometry to confirm its adequacy. The result of my work is a prototype of 3D-printed wearable structure, which I then evaluate via wear testing.
