Abstract

This thesis deals with the evaluation of the properties of selected thermal spray coatings. The theoretical part focuses on the description and literature research of thermal spray methods and additional powders. It describes the principle of thermal spraying, detailing the methods of plasma spraying and high velocity oxygen fuel spraying, and discusses the use of powders based on tungsten carbide-cobalt and aluminium-silicon. The experimental part of the work focuses on the metallographic analysis of coatings and porosity analysis. For WC-Co coatings, corrosion resistance tests, Vickers microhardness tests, and coating thickness measurements are conducted. The work includes an evaluation of the results achieved.
