Abstract

The thesis deals with the structural design of modular tool storage manipulator in machining centers. Modular tool storage is a system for storing and subsequent changing of work tools in machining center. Modularity allows changing its size, respectively changing the number of stored tools according to specific customer's requirements. The theoretical part is mapping currently available systems of automatic tool change in machining centers, in the practical part I have selected one particular system of tools exchange. Furthermore I have proposed structural design solutions for the chosen system, its means of functioning for each individual motion axes. The proposal includes specific components designed for the correct function of this system. In conclusion, I have also included an analysis of the financial requirements for manufacturing and assembly of such devices.
