Abstract
The first part of the bachelor thesis deals with the historical development of composite materials. The characteristics of the material and its individual parts, the distribution, the adhesive forces, the defects between the matrix and its reinforcement are then described. The characteristic includes also information about which material of the matrices and fibers provide advantageous and disadvantageous connection. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the use of composite materials in the engineering industry. It examines individual usage in the automotive and aerospace industries. The last part describes the use of carbon fibers in a polymer matrix in the tool holder construction and the development of a hybrid milling head, as compared with conventional steel.
