Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the use of vehicle-to-everything communication (C2X). The theoretical
part describes the principles and standards of wireless dedicated short-range communication
(DSRC/ITS-G5) and cellular vehicle-to-everything communication (C-C2X), and analyzes the structure
of key messages with a focus on Signal Phase and Timing (SPAT) and Map (MAP) messages.
The practical part is aimed at the design and implementation of a simulation solution in the Vector
CANoe.Car2x environment and its realization. Within the simulation, communication between
a Road Side Unit (RSU) and a vehicle is implemented. Based on the received messages, the vehicle
adjusts its speed, stops at a red traffic signal, and accelerates again when the signal changes. The
functionality of the proposed solution is verified using a vehicle equipped with a Drive-by-Wire
Car Interface, a Cohda Mk6 operating as an Onboard Unit (OBU), and a functional traffic light
mock-up connected to a Vector VN4610 interface acting as an RSU, which ensures the transmission
of the traffic signal state information.
