Analýza proudění kulovým kohoutem s odjíždějícími sedly

Abstract

The master’s thesis deals with the analysis of water flow through a ball valve with departing seats, which is a specific design solution that reduces friction. The theoretical part describes the principles of shut-off valves, the physical laws of fluid flow, cavitation, and numerical modelling methods. The practical part focuses on creating a 3D geometry of the ball valve, generating a computational mesh, and simulating the flow in Fluent. The - SST turbulence model was used for the calculations, and boundary conditions were defined. Subsequently, the geometry optimization was performed in Fluent using the Adjoint Solver tool to reduce pressure loss. The simulation results indicate an improvement in flow parameters.
