Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the issues of designing a small self-erecting crane from the standpoint of kinematics concerning the unfolding of the crane body and static evaluation of key structure nodes under the combined load of a burden and the intrinsic weight of the crane itself. The introduction describes various issues of designing these mobile cranes and a conceptual solution of the crane's folded mobile and erect working state. Based on this, the thesis describes the kinematics of the erection process in simplified form. Then, selected construction nodes of the structure in the working (erect) state are evaluated from statics point of view under the aforementioned combined load using analytical solution as well as standards that prescribe required solutions. Other factors that could impact the design process also briefly mentioned.
