Abstract
By extending the additive method, a model created using topology optimization is already used in
production. They are also aware of this from Formula Student VŠB-TUO. This bachelor thesis deals with
the design and strength control of the front upright on the Formula Student Vector 07. The
introductory part discusses the competition and the rules of Formula Student, construction and
production of upright. The next part is an analysis of the current solution and a search for topology
optimization. Then the load forces on the upright are determined for individual driving conditions and
these are then used in the strength analysis of the design. Furthermore, topology optimization is
applied to the modified model of the upright, which has an increased design space and the last part is
the verification of the new design obtained from the optimization using the finite element method.
